I have free space again!

Thu Jan 15, 2009, 7:53 PM
After months of struggling with diminishing harddrive space, having to put new photos on my external harddrive, and barely being able to use Aperture most of the time, I finally have a new harddrive! From 1GB available, up to 300GB available! No longer is my 8GB SD card bigger than the free space on my internal harddrive!

It's glorious.

The transition went fairly smoothly; copying initially took 4 hours, 11 minutes, but I as able to use the computer while it was doing it. Then another 25 minutes or so getting it up to date, and under and hour switching it out (which my brother did). My Windows install didn't initially work, but I got this nifty program called Winclone that worked perfectly, and I'm back up and running in VMWare (and presumably dual-boot too, though I haven't bothered to try yet - I don't like restarting).

I got the HD and an enclosure for my old one for <$200 Canadian from newegg.ca (including tax and shipping).

Thanks! I can't take credit for it unfortunately, but I like it too. I can take credit for "There are 11 kinds of people in this world, those who know unary, and those who don't." though. :D

Thanks for all the favorites btw!
